Our Story

Aquariums have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, even during the years when I didn’t have a tank of my own. Some of my earliest memories are of heading down to the creek as a kid, catching crayfish with nothing more than a stick and a tin can. That early fascination with aquatic life never really left me.

Eventually, I found my way back into the aquarium hobby, and before long, I discovered Neocaridina shrimp. What started as a hobby quickly grew into a passion. One tank turned into several, racks went up, and before I knew it, the collection had grown into a room full of aquariums.

Today, Tide N Tails is home to 60 tanks dedicated exclusively to shrimp, with every shrimp we sell bred right here at home. We don’t resell imported shrimp. Instead, we specialize in breeding rare and new Neocaridina lines, with a focus on developing unique varieties, improving our breeding lines, and maintaining the quality and consistency we believe our customers deserve.

Our philosophy is simple: quality over quantity. We believe in taking the time to raise healthy shrimp and maintain quality in our breeding lines rather than rushing to keep every variety in stock. That’s why you may occasionally see certain shrimp listed as sold out. We would rather wait until we have quality shrimp ready to offer than compromise our standards.
